Following the devastating bushfires on the NSW South Coast, the Australian Government has made available a range of financial assistance to help with clean up and recovery in the Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla.
The Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Grants program will have two funding streams which, together, will support events, concerts, festivals and visitor attractions in bushfire affected regions to assist with recovery efforts and encourage international and domestic visitors to return. Applications are now open. Eligible applicants will be invited to apply.
Stream 1 will support smaller-scale events. Applicants may apply for more than one grant in this stream, up to a total value of $30,000 per applicant. Applications in excess of $30,000 will be considered for stream 1 in extreme circumstances. Applications for stream 1 close at 5pm on 20 November 2020. Stream 1 applications will be assessed as they are received.
Stream 2 will support larger events, and/or other visitor attractions such as art installations and tourist walks. Applicants are advised to make their proposals scalable as they may not receive the full amount they are seeking. Applications for stream 2 close at 5pm on 20 March 2020. Applications will be assessed when this stream closes.
Applicants for both streams include Local Government Authorities and Regional Tourism Organisations in Local Government Areas that have been disaster declared. A full list of eligible applicants for each stream, affected Local Government Areas and information on how to apply can be found on the Austrade website or by calling 1800 048 155.
