The Fund provides each Federal electorate with funding, which schools can access for small scale projects and their associated costs. These projects are to benefit students and school communities, schools can apply for funding for one project between $1,000 and $20,000.
Schools should identify their projects in consultation with their local school community including, but not limited to School Boards, Parents and Citizens Associations (P & C) and Student Representatives. Prior to applying for funding for a project, schools are required to notify their approved authority.
Applications open 25 July 2019 and are to be submitted through the Department of Education’s SchoolsHUB portal at https://schools.education.gov.au by 5:00 pm AEST on 30 September 2019. The applications for Gilmore will then be provided to a Local Advisory Committee, of which I, Fiona Phillips, am a member. The committee will recommend projects for funding to the Minister for Education for approval. I will notify you of the outcome of your application in early December 2019.
