$44 MILLION FOR BUSHFIRE RECOVERY PROJECTS IN GILMORE
Member for Gilmore, Fiona Philips, has today welcomed the news that $44 million from Stage Two of the federal and state funded Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, will go to 30 important local projects in the Gilmore electorate.
Stage Two of the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund was opened for applications in October 2020. Since that time Eurobodalla Shire Council, Shoalhaven City Council and organisations have worked on applications for funding. Mrs Phillips has been working with our local councils, local organisations, the National Bushfire Disaster Recovery Agency and Resilience NSW, to make sure that local projects were funded.
“I am absolutely delighted to see that such important local projects will receive funding”, Fiona said.
“I know that our councils, our local organisations, staff and volunteers have worked so hard to ensure that our area gets important infrastructure, services and programs funded, so that we can all move forward with our recovery”, Fiona continued.
“I couldn’t be happier to see these projects funded”, Fiona said.
“There is much needed funding for community infrastructure projects and to help our communities recover”, Fiona continued.
“This means investing in people, their wellbeing and building resilience for future disasters. It’s a real boost for our local communities, spending, tourism and jobs”, Fiona said.
“Congratulations to all involved – it was a massive community effort”, Fiona continued.
