Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips has congratulated 13 Gilmore residents that have been named on the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours List.
The Australian Honours and Awards system recognises the outstanding service and contributions of Australians.
Recipients come from right across the country and from all walks of life and, while some are well-known, the majority are unsung heroes who work tirelessly to improve local communities and to make Australia a better place.
The 2024 Gilmore King’s Birthday awardees are:
Dr William Pigott AM (Member of the Order of Australia) for significant service to conservation and the environment, to medical education, and to international community health.
Mr Colin Rathbone OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the community of Kiama.
Mrs Gillian Avery OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the community through charitable organisations.
Chief Petty Officer William Carter OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for performance of duty in the field of Navy Aviation Engineering and operational deployment support.
The Honourable Shelley Hancock OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the people and Parliament of New South Wales.
Mr Ian Hughes OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the community of the Shoalhaven region.
Kai Noonan OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the LGBTIQ+ community, and to the domestic and family wellbeing sector.
Mrs June Stevens OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) for service to the community through social welfare organisations.

Petty Officer Stephen Dunlop CSM (Conspicuous Service Medal) for devotion to duty as a Weapon Systems Maintainer in the Royal Australian Navy.
