PHILLIPS WELCOMES LONG AWAITED
BUSHFIRE RECOVERY GRANT FUNDING
Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, has today welcomed the long-awaited announcement of the successful local applications from the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants program.
Since the Black Summer bushfires, the Member for Gilmore, has been working with many local groups, organisations and councils, with regards to what they need to help with bushfire recovery. In 2021 the federal member took part in a lengthy process to ensure local projects were supported across the South Coast.
“Although I remain disappointed this process has taken so long, I am very pleased to see many local projects I have been fighting for finally funded,” Mrs Phillips said.
“Our communities have been through so much. These projects will help individual communities recover in their own way, making life that tiny bit easier, and importantly allowing recovery and healing,” Mrs Phillips continued.
“Some of these projects have been in the making for a very long time. Not only will they help with recovery, but many will have long lasting benefits for generations,” Mrs Phillips said.
“I will always fight for our community to ensure people and organisations get the help they need.” Mrs Phillips concluded.
Mrs Phillips spoke about the successful applications from the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants in the Australian Parliament today:
The list of specific projects for the Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven are listed below. In addition, there are many projects that cross over multiple local government areas that will also benefit the Gilmore electorate.
