CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF BERRY ON THE
OPENING OF THE BOONGAREE ROTARY
NATURE PLAY PARK

Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, is congratulating the hard-working Berry Rotarian members following the official opening of the Boongaree Rotary Nature Play Park today at Berry.

“Already, this wonderful space is the envy of parks within the Shoalhaven and soon, as visitors discover Boongaree, I’m certain it will become the envy in our region,” Mrs Phillips said.

“I’m pleased the Commonwealth Government provided $456,000 towards ‘Boongaree’ from the Building Better Regions Fund – because we are building a better region,” Mrs Phillips added.

“I am also delighted that the Nature Play Park is called “Boongaree” which of course, rightly, is the beginning of truth telling about Berry’s Aboriginal heritage.”

“If a child comes away learning the word “Boongaree” and perhaps asking more questions – we know our work is done.”

“If our children have greater opportunity, regardless of their ability or disability, to play freely, to be healthy, to form good friendships – then again, our work is done,” Mrs Phillips said.

“Thank you to every person that has worked on this project. Know that your dedication is valued, I look forward to seeing future stages including a pump track and skatepark,” Mrs Phillips concluded
