A re-elected Albanese Labor Government would put $3 million towards the construction of a new clubhouse for the Batemans Bay Seahawks Football Club.

The Seahawks AFL club is booming, with around 300 current players and a 184 per cent growth in player numbers over the past two years.

The new clubhouse will include changerooms, rooms for trainers and umpires, a first aid room, storage and amenities.

The project will also help rejuvenate the Hanging Rock precinct, which was an important evacuation centre during the 2019/20 bushfires.

This election commitment recognises advocacy from the Eurobodalla Shire Council.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips:

‘I know there is huge community support of a new building at Hanging Rock that can support the Seahawks club as it grows and revitalise this sporting precinct.

‘This announcement will be a game-changer for the club, providing facilities that are modern and fit for purpose.’
