A new Reflection Space, officially opened by Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips at Shoalhaven High School today (Monday), will improve student educational outcomes.
The modular classroom is a dedicated reflection space to help disengaged students re-engage with their education.
The project was delivered with Australian Government funding of $500,000 through the Schools Upgrade Fund Round 2.
Mrs Phillips joined with members of the school community to cut the ribbon on the new classroom and said a lot of work had gone into the project.
“This fantastic new Reflection Room is a safe space that will provide school staff, teachers and students at Shoalhaven High School with better, more areas in which to work, teach and learn,” she said.
“The teachers, staff and students have built a strong and positive school community and this new facility will further enhance our local educational opportunities.
“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those at Shoalhaven High, get the best possible education.
“We strongly believe in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.”
