Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips MP is calling for Expressions of Interest to fund fantastic local volunteer groups across the South Coast through the 2023-24 Volunteer Grants round.
“I absolutely love funding our wonderful volunteer organisations, and I’m looking forward to supporting as many projects as I can in this round of grants,” Fiona said.
The Volunteer Grants Program provides up to $66,225 per federal electorate to help community organisations support the efforts of their volunteers. Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available for items that directly benefit the work of volunteers.
Volunteer Grants can be used to buy equipment for volunteers, reimburse volunteers for fuel transport or training, or to fund promotional activities to increase awareness of volunteering opportunities.
“These grants are just fantastic. In previous rounds I’ve provided funding for all sorts of great things, from defibrillators to podcasting equipment – whatever a volunteer organisation needs to thrive, I want to help provide,” Fiona said.
“I’ll be looking to fund all sorts of things, and I can’t wait to chat with our fantastic volunteer organisations about how I can help them to achieve their goals and support the community,” Fiona said.
“This year, I will be particularly looking to support projects that benefit large groups in our community – and if you want to have a chat about your organisation get in touch with my office,” Fiona said.
Expressions of Interest are open until Thursday 24 August 2023, with successful applicants then invited to apply under the program.
To be eligible, groups must be a not-for-profit organisation, have a minimum of 40% volunteers working for the organisation, have an account with an Australian financial institution on the name of the organisation applying and have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or be willing to provide a Statement by Supplier Form (reason for not quoting an ABN).
