The Central Shoalhaven Mobile Pre-School will receive $7500 for a base and IT upgrade thanks to an Australian Government grants program.
The Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips MP, has announced the much-needed boost to upgrade security and software on their computers, as well as improve sun safety with shade sails at the Nowra base.
“After the difficult summer we have all experienced, I am delighted to deliver a funding boost to the Central Shoalhaven Mobile Pre-School,” Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips said.
The mobile pre-school offers a service to Shoalhaven families that do not have access to local preschools, with an educational service for children aged 3-5. The mobile van allows the educators to set up in local community centres and public halls across the Shoalhaven.
“This fantastic mobile school has been operating for more than 40 years. It gives children the opportunity to make friends in their community while also allowing parents who may feel isolated to get to know other families in the area,”
“These upgrades will help improve the experience for the hard-working early education workers at the pre-school, and will mean they can focus on teaching and supporting our kids,” Fiona Phillips said.
The Stronger Communities Programme provides essential funding to local community groups and councils for projects that improve community participation and contribute to vibrant communities.
Mrs Phillips said she is thrilled to be delivering fantastic projects like this for the local community.
“Since being elected in May, I have been focused on linking community groups with the funding they need to deliver quality local projects like this one and I am excited to see this being delivered,” she said.
