FIONA PHILLIPS
MEMBER FOR GILMORE

GILMORE’S AUSTRALIA DAY 2022 HONOURS LIST

Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, is today congratulating the 13 residents of Gilmore who have been bestowed an award in the Australian honours system.

“It is important to recognise individuals for their contribution to community and extraordinary achievement,” Mrs Phillips said.

The awards include the Order of Australia (General and Military divisions), military awards for conspicuous and distinguished service and meritorious occupation-based awards including the Australian Fire Service Medal.

“Australia Day in Gilmore is about true community spirit, embracing emergency services, local businesses and organisations, honouring the culture of First Nations communities and welcoming new citizens,” Mrs Phillips added.

“I’m also pleased to note that we are all being encouraged to nominate those people, professionals and volunteers, who have displayed extraordinary service and achievement during the COVID-19 response and recovery, for a dedicated COVID-19 honours roll in 2023,” Mrs Phillips concluded.
