Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips MP has welcomed the new Growing Regions Program opening for expressions of interest this week.
The Growing Regions Program provides grants of between $500,000 and $15 million to local government entities and not-for-profit organisations, for capital works projects that deliver community and economic infrastructure projects across regional and rural Australia.
"Time and time again I have seen that my local community has so many great project ideas that just need funding to get off the ground," Fiona said.
“I’ve been proud to deliver funding for community led projects like the Sanctuary Point Library, the Eurobodalla Emergency Operations Centre and the Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club,” Fiona said.
The Growing Regions Program will invest in critical regional infrastructure and community projects across regional and rural Australia through two $300 million funding rounds.
Round 1 of the program is now open for Expressions of Interest. This is the first stage of a two-stage process to ensure projects meet requirements.
“I encourage our local government entities and not-for-profit organisations to take advantage of the opportunity to put in an EOI for a project,” Fiona said.
“Good quality local infrastructure, delivered with fairness and transparency – that’s what this program will deliver.” Fiona said.
“I am excited to work with the community to deliver the infrastructure local people deserve. This program is going to make a real difference in our community," Fiona concluded.
Shoalhaven City Council, Eurobodalla Shire Council and Kiama Municipal Council are all eligible for the Growing Regions Program.
