Several local organisations will benefit from the Albanese Labor Government’s investment into regional, rural and remote communities to make them more resilient, sustainable and liveable.
In partnership with the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), 43 locally-led groups across the country will share in over $330,000 to support their recovery from the impacts of COVID-19. This includes five local groups that will share in $32,434 of funding.
Funded under the FRRR’s Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) program, grants of up to $10,000 will support projects that encourage enhanced community engagement.
“I am thrilled to see organisations in Sanctuary Point, Bawley Point, Kangaroo Valley, Nowra and Culburra Beach receive support for local recovery efforts.” Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips said.
“Recovery is still an ongoing process, but I’m committed to ensuring that our communities get the best quality support available.” Fiona continued.
The funding is part of the Albanese Government’s $5 million investment from 2022 to 2024 in the FRRR’s SRC Rebuilding Regional Communities stream.
”I firmly believe local people know what their communities need most, and I will keep working with local organisations to ensure our community led organisations continue to receive the support they need.” Fiona concluded.
