Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips MP is encouraging all local volunteer organisations to apply for the 2020 Supplementary Volunteer Grants program.
Funded by the Australian Government, the grants help to support the efforts of volunteers in building stronger, more resilient communities. Fiona Phillips said there had never been a time of greater need for volunteer organisations on the South Coast.
“This year really has been the year of the volunteer – and our volunteers have stepped up to do some truly incredible things for our community when we needed it most,” Fiona Phillips said.
“I had an absolutely overwhelming response to my last round of Volunteer Grants with over 74 expressions of interest. At the time, I requested the Minister make further funds available for our hard working volunteers, so I am delighted to see this being made available,” she said.
Grants of between $1000 and $5000 can be used by volunteer organisations to support the efforts of their volunteers, and encourage and increase participation in volunteering. A total pool of $748,000 has been made available to NSW and applications close at 11.59pm on 20 September 2020.
“I encourage all our amazing local volunteer groups to apply for funding under this program, and I would be happy to support local projects where possible,” Fiona Phillips said.
Further information on the program, including how to apply, is available here.
